Galapogos is an inhabited terrestrial planet that orbits the star Lera located in the Alpha Arm of the Idiodide Galaxy and is part of the Hargig Republic.

Physical characteristics

The majority of Galapogos' surface is ocean that is, in places, over 4 km deep and the only land is in the form of small islands which rarely form archipelagos or island chains, the largest island, Fortnar Island, being approximately 45 by 60 km. Due to the small quantity of land, Galapogos has a low population and a low population density.

History

Pan Galactic War (12 BGA - 1 BGA)

During the Pan Galactic War, Diskotaque was seen as a tactical target as it was the base of operation for Galapogos Avionics Industries, the main supplier of avionic systems for the Grand Star Fleet of the Hargig Republic, and thus an attempted invasion by the Expansionist Alliance was launched and was partially successful; capturing Julapor Island and Fortnar Islandlocated in Grednara Archipelago where one of Galapogos Avionics Industries's headquaters were located but struggled to make further progress due to stiff resistance encountered on other islands. The Conservative Alliance launched Operation Isles in 9 BGA, led mainly by the Hargig Republic, to reclaim the captured islands. The operation began with an amphibious landing on Kretna Beach, to the north of Fortnar Island, leading to the Battle of Kretna Beach before pushing south to remove the invading Expansionists from the island.
